Simulation and Performance Analysis of Air-Type PVT Collector with Interspaced Baffle-PV Cell Design

A Photovoltaic Thermal (PVT) collector produces heat and electricity simultaneously. Air-type PVT uses air as a transfer medium to take from PV back side surface. The performance of the air-type is affected by design elements such types, inside structures in collecting space (baffle or fins), shape pathway, etc. In this study, an advanced was designed with curved baffles (absorber) improve thermal performance. Within collector, cells were arranged interspaced design, located increase efficiently. absorber received solar radiation directly utilized for improving fabricated tested outdoor environment considering climatic conditions Daejeon, Republic Korea. addition, based on experiment parameters data, annual electrical performances system analyzed simulation modeling using TRNSYS program. efficiencies 37.1% 6.4% (according module area) test conditions, respectively. Numerical experimental results good agreement error 4% 0.24% efficiencies, Annual gain 644 kWh th/year, generated power 118 el/year.
